Industrial Garden Wedding at Foss Waterway Seaport

One of my favorite things about planning and designing a wedding is mixing the styles of the couple getting married.  For Anna and Jeremy’s
St. Patrick Church/Foss Waterway Seaport wedding we blended her eclectic garden style with his clean modern industrial style.

For this wedding, in addition to blending the two styles, utilizing local resources was super important in the overall design.  At St. Patrick we kept things minimal with large arrangements of greens and hydrangea at the altar and small hand-tied posies of greens and dahlias lining the aisle.  Choosing Foss Waterway for the reception space provided the perfect industrial canvas with its exposed wood and steel beams not to mention the rich local history.  Bringing in the eclectic garden feel began with an indian summer color palette of orangey-reds and peachy-corals paired with greenery.  Centerpieces were collections of items consisting of custom metal vases, wood boxes, vintage bottles, family heirloom wooden tulips, and large arrangements of greenery.  We ran a long farm table through the middle of the space to add warmth and a sense of family togetherness.  There was enough laughter, silliness, and love to go around.  Heartfelt toasts, local ice cream in lieu of cake, and a late night snack of burgers and fries from Tacoma favorite, Frisko Freeze…this celebration is one we won’t soon forget.
